Alfa Romeo Confirms Return of Giulietta with New Generation
Written with artificial intelligence.

Alfa Romeo is set to reintroduce the Giulietta, confirming it will not be an SUV despite sharing technology with other Stellantis vehicles. The new compact model will utilize the STLA One platform and is currently in the development phase.
Return of the Giulietta
Alfa Romeo has announced the upcoming return of the Giulietta, which is being developed as a new generation model that will distinctly not be a SUV. This decision was confirmed by Santo Ficili, CEO of Alfa Romeo, during the 2026 Paris Motor Show, where Stellantis showcased seven concepts representing the future of its vehicles.
Key Features and Development
The new Giulietta will use the STLA One modular platform, designed to support over 30 models with hybrid and electric propulsion systems. According to Ficili, while the new SUV, codenamed A4U, is expected to launch in early 2028, the Giulietta will embody a stronger Alfa Romeo identity, differentiating it from other Stellantis models.
Ficili emphasized the need to enhance various components of the Giulietta, including suspension, steering, wheels, and brakes, to give it a unique character. The model is anticipated to retain a five-door compact body style, positioned between the previous Giulietta and the upcoming SUV in terms of size, and will incorporate design elements from the Cuorerosso prototype.
Design and Performance Expectations
The new Giulietta is expected to feature a mix of physical and digital controls in the central console, alongside a driver-focused interior. While specific engine details remain under wraps, the model may share propulsion characteristics with the Cuorerosso, which includes a 2.9 V6 engine with some form of hybridization and all-wheel drive capabilities.
Although no official release date has been set for the new Giulietta, it will arrive after the launch of the SUV in January 2028.
