Milestone Celebration at BMW M
BMW M has reached a significant milestone with the production of its one-millionth vehicle, marked by the unveiling of a special edition M3 in BMW Individual Fire Orange III at the Munich factory. Peter Weber, the site director, presented the commemorative keys to Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M GmbH, during a ceremony that highlighted both the brand's history and its future direction.
Future Production of Electric M3
The upcoming fully electric BMW M3 is set to be produced in Munich, making it the first high-performance model to feature the BMW M Neue Klasse technology. This marks a new chapter for the M lineup, as the Munich plant will exclusively manufacture electric vehicles starting in 2027, following a significant investment of approximately 650 million euros. The current M3 generation has been produced in Munich since 2020, creating a strong bond between the factory workers and the vehicle.
Commitment to Performance
Franciscus van Meel noted that reaching the one-millionth vehicle mark demonstrates the enduring appeal of BMW M's founding values, which combine track performance with everyday usability. This achievement serves as motivation to continue expanding the high-performance model range based on the Neue Klasse technology, while maintaining the brand's global reputation for excellence.
