Hyundai Unveils All-New Tucson with AI Features in New York

Hyundai has launched the all-new Tucson SUV in New York, featuring enhanced connected car services and a new hybrid system. This model introduces the 'Gleo AI' agent, an AI-powered interface for vehicle operations and information retrieval.

Overview of the All-New Tucson

Hyundai officially revealed the all-new Tucson in New York, marking the start of its sales in the U.S. on the 1st of the month (local time). The new Tucson showcases advanced connected car services and a new hybrid system.

Key Features

The Tucson is the first Hyundai SUV to adopt the Android Automotive OS (AAOS) with its 'Preos Connect' system. This integration allows users to utilize the 'Gleo AI', an AI agent based on large language models (LLMs), enabling a conversational interface for vehicle control and information searches. Additionally, users can access various third-party services through the Preos app marketplace.

Another notable feature is the 'Stay Mode', which allows the use of air conditioning and infotainment systems without starting the engine, enhancing the electric experience for hybrid vehicles.

Dimensions and Powertrains

The Tucson measures 4,700 mm in length and 1,905 mm in width, providing ample interior space. In the South Korean market, it will be available with two powertrains: a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine and a 1.6-liter turbo hybrid. The hybrid variant boasts a maximum output of 245 hp and a combined fuel efficiency of 17.4 km/l.

In North America, Hyundai plans to offer both gasoline and hybrid powertrains, including the 'Tucson XRT PRO', which features enhanced off-road capabilities. This model will come with all-wheel drive (AWD) and all-terrain tires specific to the North American market.

Future Plans

Jose Munoz, president of Hyundai, emphasized the company's goal to introduce over 100 new and facelifted models by 2030, with 58 of those in North America alone. Hyundai will also announce the pricing for the Tucson by the end of this month as it prepares for its full launch in the South Korean market.
