Volkswagen Launches New All-Electric ID. Polo
Volkswagen has introduced the ID. Polo, an all-electric city car designed for daily use. Available in three equipment versions and two battery sizes, it offers a range of up to 454 km and a starting price of €24,995.

The new ID. Polo has recently become available for order through Volkswagen's distribution network. It is offered in three equipment versions: Trend, Life, and Style, along with three power levels: 85 kW (116 hp), 99 kW (135 hp), and 155 kW (211 hp). The car features two battery options with net capacities of 37 kWh and 52 kWh.
Comfort and Space Enhancements
Passengers will find improved comfort in the ID. Polo, with an additional 19 mm of space in the cabin. The trunk also offers enhanced storage capacity of 441 liters, representing over a 25% increase compared to the previous MQB-based Polo model. This new architecture allows for a higher seating position while maintaining the same headroom, along with increased shoulder space due to a wider interior.
Innovative Features
Standard features include a retro display mode activated via a button on the steering wheel, which replicates instrument graphics reminiscent of the Golf I. The ID. Polo also introduces One Pedal Driving, allowing for strong deceleration simply by releasing the accelerator.
Battery and Performance
The vehicle is equipped with a high-voltage battery developed by Volkswagen, using a compact and efficient "cell-to-pack" architecture. Models with the 85 kW and 99 kW motors come with a standard LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery of 37 kWh, offering a range of up to 334 km. The 155 kW variant features an NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt) battery with a net capacity of 52 kWh, enabling a maximum range of 454 km.
Additional Options
For enhanced driving assistance, the ID. Polo can be optionally equipped with the semi-autonomous "Connected Travel Assist" system, which includes traffic sign recognition and lane change assistance. The battery placement beneath the floor between the axles helps optimize interior space and lowers the center of gravity for improved agility and comfort.
The ID. Polo is designed to be an agile city car that is also economical for long journeys, with energy consumption rated at 13.3 kW/100 km. Its price starts at €24,995.
