The upcoming BMW M3 Electric has been captured in intense spy photos while undergoing chassis testing at Nürburgring, racing alongside a Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. This encounter highlights the performance capabilities of both electric vehicles ahead of their market release.

Recent spy photos reveal the BMW M3 Electric prototype showcasing its performance capabilities at Nürburgring, where it was unexpectedly followed by a Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. This incident not only underscores the thrilling nature of testing at the famed track but also hints at a competitive showdown between these two powerful electric vehicles.
During the testing phase, the M3 Electric demonstrated impressive handling with controlled drifting, pushing its rear tires to the limits. The prototype is equipped with a powerful propulsion system, likely offering up to 750 hp and 1,200 Nm of torque, allowing for remarkable acceleration and maneuverability. The rear motor's capabilities were evident as smoke billowed from the tires, particularly as the Xiaomi SU7 began to close in closely behind.
The BMW M3 Electric adopts a design language similar to the BMW i3, featuring muscular wheel arches and aggressive bumpers. Inside, it will include a panoramic display stretching across the dashboard, carbon sports seats, and a distinctive steering wheel. This model is expected to be the most powerful M3 to date, equipped with four electric motors, one for each wheel, although it remains unconfirmed whether its total output will exceed 1,300 hp.
Set to launch in summer 2027, the BMW M3 Electric is anticipated to outperform its combustion variant, with production slated to begin in March 2027. While pricing details are not yet available, it is expected to be available in Spain starting July 2027. Notably, this electric sedan will offer all-wheel drive and various driving modes, achieving a top speed surpassing 250 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately three seconds, along with a range exceeding 700 km and rapid charging capabilities.
