Opel is introducing the sporty Astra GSE Line, set to debut at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. This new trim will replace the current GS variant in spring 2027 and will offer hybrid and conventional engine options.
New Sporty Trim for Astra
The Opel Astra is expanding its lineup with the introduction of the Astra GSE Line, which will be showcased at the upcoming 2026 Paris Motor Show. This new sporty variant aims to enhance the Astra's appeal and will take the place of the existing GS trim starting in spring 2027.
Engine Options and Design Features
Mechanically, the Astra GSE Line will retain the current engine options, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and traditional combustion engines, allowing customers to choose their preferred powertrain. Visually, the GSE Line features a redesigned front fascia with specific inserts under the Opel Vizor, complemented by distinctive "GSE LINE" badges on the bumper to differentiate it from other Astra models.
Interior Details
Inside, the Astra GSE Line showcases sporty upgrades with yellow contrast stitching on the seats, steering wheel, door inserts, and center armrest. The sport pedals are made of aluminum, and optional sports seats with integrated headrests will be available for the Astra Hybrid and Astra Plug-in Hybrid.
Future Developments
Following the launch of the GSE Line in spring 2027, Opel plans to introduce a high-performance variant with 206 kW (280 hp), although the exact order opening date is yet to be confirmed. Additionally, Opel will reveal more models featuring the GSE Line trim at the Paris Motor Show, including the new Corsa GSE electric model with 207 kW (281 hp).
